Exclusive: Cruise Lines to Offer 7-Night European Cruises Roundtrip from Galveston Starting Summer 2025

Galveston cruise customers have been asking for more ports for years – and Premier Custom Travel can now exclusively report that those wishes are about to come true.

An announcement is expected later today confirming that several cruise lines will begin offering 7-night European cruises sailing roundtrip from Galveston starting in 2025. The first voyage is expected to depart from Texas on June 31, 2025. While times may vary slightly, all lines are expected to offer the following itinerary:

Day 1 – Depart Galveston – 4pm
Day 2 – Sea Day
Day 3 – London, England – 6am to 11pm
Day 4 – Berlin, Germany – 8am to 7pm
Day 5 – Paris, France – 6am to 9pm
Day 6 – Zurich, Switzerland – 8am to 7pm
Day 7 – Sea Day
Day 8 – Arrive Galveston – 8am

There will also be two special 14-night sailings that will feature the cities listed above, plus a visit to the Panama Canal and the Great Wall of China.

For years, regular cruisers from Galveston have asked to visit different ports. Roatan, Cozumel, and Costa Maya are typically the ports visited on a seven-night journey, but now with the new advances in fuel technology, ships can travel farther and faster than before.

Captain Harrison, a seasoned sea captain, will lead the inaugural voyage. “I’ve seen some large waves in my time, so I know just how to navigate a ship to avoid any danger.” Harrison is particularly excited about welcoming onboard a young man named Robin Shelby, who won his way onboard the voyage through a school essay contest. “Master Shelby has picked a particularly fascinating time to come onboard and I hope he will visit me on the bridge – rain or shine.”

Harrison went on to explain how the ships can now achieve these longer sailings. “We have 38 hours to get from Galveston to our first port – London. That means we need to travel a bit faster than our traditional 22 knots. To guarantee an on-time arrival, we’ve had to increase speed to 127 knots, although we can slow a bit should we see a favorable tailwind. By the way, Happy New Year!”

To safely achieve this increased speed, some modifications will take place for these voyages. All deck furniture will be bolted down, customers will be encouraged to leave all hats and other loose items of clothing at home, and the popular kids program “snorkeling by the propellor” will be suspended for these sailings. To stabilize the ships, large underwater fins will be installed and deployed should the vessels encounter rough seas.

Bookings for these special voyages open on April 31, 2024. Pricing has yet to be announced.

When asked to comment on this exciting news, Christopher J. Grum, Founder & President of Premier Custom Travel, stated, “Everyone at PCT is thrilled to make this announcement, but we’re even more excited to wish all our customers and friends a Happy April Fool’s Day.”
