Countdown to the Disney Fantasy: Fantasy Now Officially A Disney Cruise Line Ship

The Fantasy is now officially a Disney Cruise Line ship and will set sail today for its christening ceremony in New York City.

Disney took possession of its newest ship as the Meyer Werft flag was lowered to the German national anthem and the Disney Cruise Line flag rise, transferring ownership from the shipbuilder to Disney. The ship sets sail today (February 16th) for New York City, where its christening ceremony will be held. After the ceremony, the ship will sail to its home port of Port Canaveral, Florida, where it will set-sail on its maiden voyage on March 31st.
