Hello San Diego

Hello from beautiful San Diego! Today was a travel day – our Panama Canal adventure begins tomorrow.

Three of us took a flight from Houston to San Diego this morning. The rest of the group is on later flights and will arrive this afternoon and this evening.

United took good care of us and we had a tasty lunch too. I had the Asian noodle salad with roast beef. They also had a cheese and spinach dish that looked good as well.

We arrived and the courtesy van took us to our hotel – Best Western Inn Plus Bayside. It’s a nice economical hotel in a great location. We’re only about 10 minutes from both the airport and the cruise terminal. I was surprised with a nice gift of some snacks since I’m a rewards member. That was a nice touch. They’re also going to take us to the cruise terminal tomorrow in the courtesy van. That’s very helpful as well. On our ride to the hotel we saw that the Ruby Princess was in port today. Always nice to see one of the brands we proudly represent.

Once everyone arrives, we’re getting together for dinner at Seasons 52. There are some first-time cruisers among our group so dinner will be a good chance to go over some last-minute info for our cruise.

We’re headed to the Disney Wonder at noon tomorrow. For some, this will be their first time on a cruise ship. For others in our group, their first Disney cruise. This will be my fourth sailing on this (pardon the pun) Wonder-ful ship. We’re all very excited.
