Cruise360 Day 1 Recap

Welcome to the first of our nightly recaps from Cruise360 – the cruise industry’s official convention.

Today, Scott and I arrived in Fort Lauderdale and transferred to the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina. We stay at this hotel every time the convention is here in Florida and we think it’s fantastic. It’s located directly across the street from the convention center and cruise port, making it the most convenient hotel for the conference. It’s a short 5-minute walk to all of the events.

After arrival, we did some unpacking and then headed out to a local grocery store to stock up for our week here. There will be events that include breakfast, lunch or dinner (all of our ship tours include lunch, for example) but it’s nice to have supplies back at the hotel. There’s also a fantastic Asian fusion restaurant in the hotel and we usually hit it up at least once each year.

The bulk of the day today was spent preparing for the week (the convention begins officially on Wednesday). We spent quite a bit of time recording some audio for our new venture – PCT Radio. We’re very excited about this new feature on our website and hope you find it fun and informative. We have a lot of cool plans for this including recording a whole bunch of episodes this week.

Tomorrow is another mostly open day for us to record and prep. I (Chris) do have one meeting mid-day. I’m proud to be a member of the CLIA STARBoard (their travel agent advisory panel) and we have our quarterly assembly around lunchtime tomorrow.

That’s our day 1 recap. These will be much more detailed as the week moves on – thanks for reading and we’ll have more for you tomorrow.
