Princess Introduces a Familiar Face As New Celebrations Ambassador

Actress Jill Whelan has been part of the Princess family ever since she was 11 and starred as Vicki Stubing on The Love Boat, which filmed on Princess ships. Now she has the new title “Celebrations Ambassador” and a mission to encourage special occasion sailing.

“During my many years of cruising around the world with Princess, I’ve witnessed countless guest celebrations of all kinds, and I’ve seen first-hand the special nature of celebrating at sea,” Jill says. “That’s why I’m so excited to be in this new role for the company.”

You could say it was a part Jill was born to play. She’s served as godmother to three ships – Dawn Princess®, Caribbean Princess® and their newest addition Regal Princess® – and held her own wedding aboard Caribbean Princess®. Jill also joined her Love Boat castmates on the Princess regal float in the Rose Parade earlier this year.

Jill’s new position involves activities she’s sure to thrive in, such as writing a collection of celebration guides, starring in a video series and representing Princess at various consumer travel and lifestyle shows. Best of all, she will occasionally have the honor of surprising guests who are celebrating a special occasion on board.
