It’s been a great conference so far — but today may be the best of the best. Here’s a preview:

We begin the day with breakfast and General Session II. Here’s what’s on the agenda for today’s session:

  • “Happy 10th Anniversary & Good Morning Fort Lauderdale” – CLIA President & CEO Christine Duffy welcomes delegates to the conference
  • “Insights by American Express” – An always interesting and interactive presentation from the presenting sponsor. The first year we were here, the PCT gang won thousands of dollars in this game.
  • “Create a Gold Rush – Prospecting and Finding Your Next Cruise Customer” – featuring CLIA’s Dwain Wall
  • “Insights by Amadeus” – A presentation by one of the industry’s largest selling platforms
  • “cruise3sixty Agent Makeover” – Several agents will receive makeovers…will one of us be in that group?
  • “The Art of the Upsell and Closing the Sale” – Panel discussion with industry leaders
  • “Thank you and surprises” – Yesterday it was a special appearance by Gavin MacLeod, Captain Stubing of “The Love Boat” giving away 12 cruises to agents. What will happen today? Stay tuned…

After the General Session, we’re off to the Port of Miami to tour Norwegian Cruise Line’s brand new ship Norwegian Getaway. We’ll have plenty of photos and videos of our tour and lunch onboard.

This afternoon, it’s day two of the Trade Show. Did you watch our video of our staffers racing for charity yesterday? Here it is in case you missed it:

And finally, we wrap of the day with tonight’s “Hall of Fame” dinner. This is one of the big highlights of the conference, featuring the induction of several industry leaders into the CLIA Hall of Fame, plus dynamite entertainment from our cruise partners. In the past, we’ve had Blue Man Group, Megan Hilty and more. We hear rumor that the cast of the Broadway smash “Mamma Mia!” might make an appearance…but we’ll just have to wait and see.
